Plymouth College of Art has worked with the Plymouth charity Jeremiah’s Journey for many years.
The charity supports children when they have experienced or are anticipating the death of someone special. Stepping Stones is a group which provides a more comprehensive service to children who have a parent with a terminal illness. Some of the children and young people attend regular group sessions at Plymouth College of Art who support this project with time and creativity. The group sessions are an opportunity to escape the uncertainty and stressful situation at home whilst providing a space where children can express themselves creatively and be with others who truly understand what they are facing.
Last week I ran the workshop and the children and young people turned empty tin cans into something very exciting.
I left out lots of different craft materials and a few pictures for inspiration.
And this is what they came up with. Amazing!
